What drives an MLM business
The Product
Most people who get into MLM are honest. For this reason belief in the product is essential.
Belief is the process of moving a person from knowledge through understanding to true insight. The information starts in the head and over time finds its way to the heart. When it reaches the heart, it is belief.
You can easily get a person to recommend a product they believe in. You don’t even need to pay them. But not even exceptional commission will induce most people to recommend something that they don’t believe in. To prove the point, think of a person who has seen a good movie or eaten at a good restaurant. They will happily tell anyone willing to listen about their experience. If it was a good experience, they will wax lyrical about it. If it was a bad experience, they will let you know that as well. What are the chances that they would see a really bad movie and then tell you it was great? (Of course that assumes you did not give them the tickets as a present)! People are basically honest so if you want them to sell your product, you need to make sure it is credible and provides a good exchange of value.
Getting your people to believe in the product is therefore exceptionally important and MLM offers the perfect platform to educate your team.
Think about it for a moment. A new member joins your team. Usually they pay some sort of membership fee and purchase a starter pack. They are excited, like what they have seen and are willing to do whatever it takes to succeed. This is the honeymoon period and it presents you with a golden opportunity to educate them. You can pull them into a training session, get them to try the products, tell them what makes the products better, explain the pricing and value offering, show them testimonials and get them to interact with happy customers. The better you are aT this education process, the more likely you are to have a winning distributor in your team.
Initiation training is, however, only step number 1. Over the weeks that follow, find ways to help your new member interact with the product. Be innovative. Hold ongoing training, host webinars, send out sample packs and provide additional information.
I have been a member of a number of networks over the years. In each case I have noticed that the people who believe heart and soul in their products are successful while the people who harbour doubts generally fail.
Get your MLM business out of the blocks on the correct footing by ensuring that your team members become believers.
